Our Story

Liveframe isn't just a product. It's a piece of my heart.

During the pandemic, my wife and I faced the challenge of celebrating our wedding while the world was closed. We couldn't have the gathering we'd imagined, but we still wanted something real. So I built a small app that let our guests share photos and messages in real time, projecting their love and well-wishes for everyone to see. In a year when connection felt so fragile, that evening meant everything to us. The warmth and spontaneity of it, captured in countless photos and heartfelt messages, still brings a smile to my face.

— Kevin Ong
"Woohoooooo!! Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Sparks!!"
— Megan Yeager
"I am so glad we were able to join you virtually! I wouldn't miss it for the world!"

A picture shared on what became liveframe

After the wedding, Liveframe didn't really exist yet. It was just a forgotten corner of our wedding website that nobody else would ever see.

A couple of years later, my wife and I moved to Portland, and I started working with a nonprofit called Positive Charge PDX. We were planning an event for the Q Center and hit a wall: how do you collect photos from guests without teaching everyone how to use hashtags, and without putting pictures of kids on social media? I said I'd figure it out.

A few days later it hit me. I'd already built this. For our wedding.

I dug it back out, gave it a name, and built it into something anyone could use. The idea was always the same: let people share what they're experiencing, together, in the moment, with as little friction as possible.
